Pajtim Statovci is one of Finland’s most internationally successful authors and a two-time winner of the Finlandia Prize for fiction, with the works Bolla (2019) and Lehmä synnyttää yöllä (to be published in Swedish in 2026). The rights to Statovci’s books have been sold to more than 20 countries, and his two earlier novels My Cat Yugoslavia and Crossing have been widely acclaimed in the English-speaking world, including a nomination for the National Book Award in the United States. Statovci received the Helsingin Sanomat Literature Prize for debut authors for My Cat Yugoslavia, and Crossing won the Toisinkoinen literary award.
