Lina Wolff made her debut in 2009 with the short story collection Många människor dör som du. Her major breakthrough came in 2016 with the novel The Polyglot Lovers (translated by Saskia Vogel), which received both the Svenska Dagbladet Literature Prize and the August Prize. She followed this with the novel Köttets tid in 2019, and in 2022 Djävulsgreppet was published, a book that was nominated for both the August Prize and Dagens Nyheter’s Culture Prize. In 2024 she released the short-prose collection Promenader i natten.. Her most recent novel, Liken vi begravde, was recently awarded the August Prize, making Wolff one of the few authors to have received the award twice.
Wolff has also been honoured with numerous other literary awards, including Tidningen Vi’s Literature Prize, Aftonbladet’s Literature Prize, the Piraten Prize, the Aniara Prize, and the Winter Prize from the Swedish Academy. Her novels have been translated into several languages and have received international acclaim. In addition to her writing, she also works as a translator, notably producing a widely praised new translation of Gabriel García Márquez’s modern classic One Hundred Years of Solitude.
