Elina Hirvonen

Elina Hirvonen is an author, journalist, active advocate for equality, and documentary filmmaker whose works have been translated into more than ten languages. She has written fiction, non-fiction, and children’s books. Her debut novel was nominated for the Finlandia Prize. The book Tytöille jotka ajattelevat olevansa yksin, co-written with Ujuni Ahmed, was also adapted into a popular play at the National Theatre. Hirvonen’s biography of Katri Helena, published in spring 2023, was one of the year’s best-selling books. At Helsinki Lit, she will meet the Ukrainian author Yevhenia Kuznetsova.
