Juha Hurme, born in 1959, has published five novels and is one of the most well-known theatre directors in Finland. His latest novel Niemi won the Finlandia Prize in 2017. Niemi is published by Teos. In his art Hurme uses autofiction elements as well as wide knowledge of cultural history. He is an active columnist for the Finnish Broadcasting company and known for his texts about humanism, education and arts.
